“The Green Card” is a dark urban fairy tale. After losing their Green Card, Alex, a transfemme immigrant in New York, becomes invisible to almost everyone. When a lonely child can see them, Alex discovers that what marks them as other may also become a source of power.

“Toga Virilis” is a concept for a series about a trans college freshman Harper. He copes with sharing a dorm floor with US military cadets by escaping into an AI-generated Ancient Rome, where masculinity feels simpler and he is best friends with young Scipio Africanus, a famous historical figure — until a real cadet who looks like Scipio forces him to to confront what “manhood” really means.

A project on the intersection of journalism, ai research and animation, conceived as a time capsule of 2022. The goal was to capture the very early stages of image generating models against the start of a major war in Europe since WWII. This work serves as both a historical document and an artistic observation about the flow of time and the duration of the war in Ukraine.

CHILDREN BEHIND GLASS

An artistic protest against crippling government control over childhood. This animated collage series addresses the gruesome story of the “Dutch childcare benefits scandal” (Toeslagenaffaire) when thousands of children were taken away from their parents in The Netherlands after a mistake in the tax database.
Based on Dutch Renaissance art. With this project, I want to express hope that the new renaissance unleashed in the digital realm today may help children regain their voices.

A PARALLEL WORLD

On February 26, 2022, I projected my then unfinished Ukraine-themed animation “A Parallel World” on the walls of The Hermitage in Amsterdam, the first and only foreign dependence of the famous Hermitage Museum in St.Petersburg, Russia (they broke their ties with the Russian Hermitage shortly afterwards).
